Both Jim and Jay graduated from the University of Virginia and like so many other graduates, stayed in Charlottesville to build a life and raise a family. Jim worked as a systems administrator for a small business. Jay started rebuilding old computers. As a pilot, Jim was considering joining the Air Force just weeks after September 11, 2001, but his younger brother suggested they start a business together, instead.
What makes this duo different is their courteous nature and desire to help clients solve difficult problems. They try to make complicated systems understandable, and bring empathy to clients in crisis. Jim’s experience as a pilot also informs his approach to IT systems. “You have to monitor the systems, manage the risk, and no matter what— keep flying the plane”, he says.
